DIY Neon Fringed Leggings

Wowzer! How amazing are these neon fringed leggings? I love anything fringed and these take the cake. Definitely putting them on my list.

DIY Maxi Fringe Skirt

How cool is a long fringed skirt like this layered over pants or opaque tights? You can make your own by buying leather twine and cutting heaps of meter long lengths, and using hot glue to attach to another piece of leather twine to go around the waist. Very very time consuming but would look very cool. This method is a great way to make any type of length of leather fringing.

DIY Feather Fringed Jeans

Love these feather fringed jeans, make your own by attaching some feather fringe to the side seams, or sewing on individual feathers so that they hang down and create a fringe.

DIY Fringed Back Shorts

These amazing shorts by Bitching and Junkfood, worn by Eliza Doolittle (how fit is she btw?) in her recent Skinny Genes filmclip are so killer. I think they were made especially for Eliza, and in that case you will HAVE to DIY them by sewing some long fringing onto the back of a pair of cut off denim shorts.

DIY Urban Outfitter Inspired Fringed + Suspender Shorts

The whole 'looks like I made it myself'chic thats rolling around really inspires me to actually made it myself. These shorts from Urban Outfitters are crying out to be DIYed. In both cases cut off a thrifted pair of jeans, add acid wash suspenders or fringing.

DIY Runway - House of Holland Fringed Belt

Head down to your local craft store, or if you live in London - the craft stall at your local street markets (Chapel Street / Walthamstow High Street / Ridley Road etc etc) and buy some fringing - the longest you can find. Attach to a skinny belt like this. Wear with a mini dress or skirt. Try to make sure the fringing reaches past the hem of the skirt - although don't sacrifice skirt length to achieve this. Knickers are not a good look.

I'll probably do mine in black - particularly given that unlike the catwalks we are about to go into winter... (grr fashion is so annoying sometimes).

DIY Fringed Yellow Shorts

Delicious fringed detail, and soooo easy to add to a thrifted pair of coloured shorts! Attaching the fringing so that it hangs just down over the hem of the shorts is the best bet (but must say still dont like tails attached to handbags...)

DIY Fringed Heels

Hot glue + fringing + old heels = Voila!

Ps. Made an amazing pair of sparkly high waisted pleated shorts out of a pair of size 16 granny pants... but am a bad blogger and didn't photograph the process. I will say that the use of iron on hemming tape meant it all happened rather quickly, obviously too quickly for me to get out my camera!

DIY - Fringed Body

Love the fringed arms on this bodysuit, I know they were for sale at topshop - but in the spirit of DIY, I think I will make one myself. I am going to get a long sleeved black top and a piece of black jersey (an old top you are going to throw out will work nicely), cut the fabric into 1 cm thick strips, leaving a section of uncut fabric along the top, and then glue this section along the undersides of the arms. Fantastic fringed wings!
