Found this cute Uniqlo shirt over at Shini's blog Park & Cube (literally my visual sugar). How good! If you dont have a Uniqlo near you why not make one yourself by adding some button and button holes to a shirt?

The Art of Namecards

Business cards are key in Asia. You must a) offer and receive a business card with both hands b) intently study business cards when you are given them - a long look at the card, then a look at the person and then another look at the card usually suffices c) not under any circumstances chuck the business card in your handbag willy nilly- they should be placed somewhere important so the giver can see you respect them (as though you plan on putting it under your pillow when you get home). Can be awkward when are you giving and receiving a card at the same time using both hands and the 'business card shuffle' ensues - someone really has to let go at some point.

It helps that getting your own namecards is super cheap - I got a couple of hundred of these printed recently for HK$40 (us$5).

Honeysuckle

This colour just wont quit for me. In the name of recycling - I'm turning this Jil Sander inspired skirt I made , in the photo below, into a pair of high waisted and wide leg pants a la Philip Lim. Can't wait to show you the final result. Hope you are busy getting your honeysuckle on - whether you're in winter or summer!

DIY Cut Out Back Top

Fell in love with this look when I saw it in a magazine. Very do-able - simply cut out the back of a long sleeve top and sew the edges.

Malaysia Photo Diary

A few pics from my trip to Penang and Langkawi last week. It was such a lovely getaway, I definitely recommend Malaysia as a travel destination if you get the chance. Its such an amazing mix of Chinese, Indian, and Island influences. Annnnd some beautiful beaches too!

DIY Fruitsalad Lips (the ultimate in colour blocking)

These lips are so cool! Seen at RAFW at Catwalk show Dhini - with make up style by Napoleon Perdis, they definitely put the fruity into summer (or winter). If you've not been living under a rock you probably have two fruity bright shades in your lipstick arsenal - pair them together with a neutral outfit for the ultimate in colour blocking.

When you live in the smallest apartment known to man (welcome to hong kong!) you need a few pretty things to keep you sane and make you smile.

DIY Fruit Tingle

Do you like this skirt I bought at my favourite thrift store this weekend? I love how thrifting allows me to get amongst a major trend without having to stump up huge sums for the likes of Prada or Stella Mccartney. Add a little bit of DIY into the mix - in the form of shortening the skirt into a high waisted mini and making a 50's style bikini top out of the left over fabric - and voila! As much novelty fruit trend as one girl can manage. Stay tuned for the finished product. (Shop my closet here).

Easter Rooftop Shenanigans

A few belated pics from Easter Friday Lunch last week on one of our friends amazing rooftop. We ate BBQ four cheese pizzas, mexican gazpacho, seared tuna tacos with orange habanero dressing, salmon burgers and coconut cupcakes with white chocolate icing (via the hummingbird bakery cookbook). Yumbo. Was a very (very) long night in the end - with a midnight stop at the central flower market stalls, just cos.

DIY Inspiration - Dion Lee

Every so often a designer comes out of the woodwork and delivers a collection so full of DIY that I need to take a moment to collect myself. Dion Lee's AW11 collection has my mind swirling with DIY ideas - mens shirts, cut outs, sheerness and more. Oh no you dint! Although I must say Dion has been producing collections with covetable DIYable details for a while now (remember the blazer with cut out sleeves?).

DIY Sideboob Tank with Metal Detail

i.love.sideboob. Seriously, who doesn't? And tops with low arm holes are friggin easy to make - take an oversized tank/tee and some scissors and away you go. I love the addition of a metal style strap like this picture - its a really cool detail. You could use chain or a piece of metal from a hardware store to recreate this look. Doooo it.
