DIY Sheer Skirt

I adore this skirt from Chloe SS11 ready to wear (in fact I love the whole ballet inspired collection) and I think it would be so easy to make with some sheer net and a ribbon waistband. And don't you think the net sleeves of the shirt are really cool? Also very DIYable.

Ballet Inspired Chloe SS11

Saw these amazing photos on The Cherry Blossom Girl of the Chloe SS11 ballet-inspired collection. It is so gorgeous - particularly when lots of SS11 collections were quite boho and hippy, this simple aesthetic is very refreshing. Also, TOTALLY have ballet on the brain since I got some Ballet Barre action on friday night with a bunch of other bloggers (coverage to come!)
DIY this look by pairing a pleated calf length skirt with a boat or round neck long sleeved top, low bun and ballet flats. Pop on some spotted tights if its cold where you are.

DIY Chloe Inspired Denim Shirt

Here's a DIY I did a while ago and forgot to upload - new seasons are upon us and I find it a bit confusing. Do I embrace the camel capes of AW11 or the tie dye mini dresses of SS11. On that note, I hope this throw back to a few seasons ago will be a little bit of a reprieve for you. Inspired by the Chloe washed denim with dark pockets. I am sure you are familiar.
Um steps to do this - take a denim shirt (I bought mine at Glastonbury Festival at the Park stage when it got a bit chilly one night), check that inside the pockets is the dark colour of the unbleached denim, take off pockets and voila! Easy.

Am about to start selling a massive haul of new and vintage clothes on ebay - I have literally halved my wardrobe- and this will be in the haul.

DIY Chloe Gold Painted Jeans

Honestly WTF have done another honestly awesum DIY. Gold painted jeans using paper doilies as stencils a la Chloe. Such an inspired and easy technique! I have a pink chiffon maxi dress that I think would look good with this treatment.

DIY Chloe SS/10 Patchwork Denim Shirt

Was looking through an old magazine last night and stumbled across this image from the Chloe SS/10 catwalk show... I am probably way late on this, but given the denim shirts are here to stay for a while, I thought it would be such an easy DIY!

Who What Wear put up a great tutorial here on this which involved gluing dark denim pockets onto a light denim shirt. All well and good, but I had a sneaky look inside the pockets of one of my thrifted light denim shirts, and found that inside the pockets was dark denim! Well I never! Obviously often the bleaching process for the light denim fabric happens after the shirt is sewn, leaving the pockets dark. For an easy DIY, take the pockets off a light denim shirt, (thrifted and old ones are most likely to have dark denim underneath the pockets) and away you go!

Long weekend DIY action

Chain harness skirt. In addition to dismantling and painting my bike, I am thinking of embarking on the below DIY. Have lots of chains left over from my last project - and a few belts that will work perfectly. Will post instructions and snaps when complete

Sping Scalloping

Obsessed with scalloping at the moment, thinking about doing a bit of a DIY with some pants I have - making some scalloped shorts. Would probably involve shortening the pants and creating a scalloped hem. Queens wardrobe are doing am amazing job of copying Chloe's best pieces.
