The lookbook for stolen girlfriends club alllllways gets my DIY brain going, love these cute layered socks made out of a few different layers ofcut off tights. Do it! The furry de-contructed sweatshirt is very cute and also DIYable - out of a worn our fur coat. The whole 'swapping the arms on your favourite jacket/sweater' thing isn't getting old yet is it?

Ps. I am soooo incredibly busy, hence the decrease in inspiration posts. Leaving London in less than three weeks and have so much to do! Will be back on form next week after a weekend of listmaking and organising.

DIY Ripped Suspender Tights
Posted about tights DIYed to look like suspenders here in July (how effing 'fashion forward' are we here at APAAS??? ok not really) and recently spied a cute pair on Gala from Inside Am-lul's Closet. Now that the weather is cooling down, isn't it time for you to get stuck in and make your own? Use a pair of tights that are wrecked already (the pair you accidentally put on this morning, to be told by your flatmate, just as you were walking out the door, that they had a massive run in the back... grrr).

DIY Sheer top out of tights
Such an easy DIY - cut a neckline into the crotch of a pair of tights, and cut out the toes, and wack over your head. Best worn like Rumi has done with a top or waistcoat over the top to high the potentially rough looking cut out neckline. Would look great using spotted tights.

DIY - Cut out suspender leggings
Another great bit of DIY inspiration from Evil Twin. I love the small details in the lookbooks that get my DIY brain all juiced up! These leggings look like a pretty simple undertaking, in fact I saw a girl at Glastonbury rocking some she has made herself. Grab a pair of dark opaque tights (the thicker the better so they don't rip), put them on and mark with chalk where you would want the 'suspenders' to sit. I would probably make the suspenders thinner and barely hanging on - maybe an inch at the front and back and I would make the cut out a bit more horizontal and higher up the leg - I have a feeling that would make your legs look longer. Take them off and get cutting!

DIY - Skeleton Tights (Inspired by Evil Twin)
vil Twin's new lookbook is bursting with DIY inspiration. Grab an old black pair of tights and put them on (or may be easier to get a friend to put them on so you can access them better), get some chalk/white pen and do an outline of the skeleton and then fill in the outline with white acrylic paint. Or, you could do a stencil with paper and place that on the tights and paint over it with white paint. You could buy them for next to nothing here, but that would defeat the DIY purpose, right?

DIY - Mui Mui Swallow Tights
You can sometimes tell how successful a designer collection has been by the number of DIY's that pop up in its honour. A good example is the Balmain Summer 2009 collection, which helped inspire a million different studded DIYs - bags, blazers, shorts, jeans etc. I am pretty sure that after the release of this collection shares in studs and studding tools went through the roof (as well as bandaids for sore, sometimes bloody, fingers). Looking around the web, you can see that the recent latest Mui Mui campaign has inspired a few interesting DIY's. The below tights from Cocorosa, who is getting a bit of a reputation for her amazing tights diys, are a la Mui Mui but add a little something different. Furtherdown there are pictures of Fashion Zen's Mui Mui inspired skirt. Both DIY's use printed pictures and iron on transfer paper. The swallows may date quickly, but the technique is an interesting one that could be used for a range of various DIYs.
