Amazing girls weekend just gone with the bf out of town. Including a whole afternoon spent in the secret Sham Shui Po Fabric Market. Introduced to me by true local Hong Kong friends, from the outside it looks like a squatters camp and inside it is filled with the most amazing fabrics. I die!... or some shit like that. All I can say is that its definitely not in the guidebook. I spent a good couple of hours playing with the beads, lace and ribbons, do you like the embellished shoulders I threw together?

Colour Quandry...
I need your help! I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with the bright orange side split dress I made last week. Well I went fabric shopping today and bought these two gorgeous silk fabrics. I am going to make another version of the dress using one of these fabrics... but which? Please ignore the fact that it looks like I am trying to do my best Aishwarya Rai impression (oh to BE her!), I wanted you to get an idea of what the colour would look like on. So what do you think? Update: Made the dress out of one of the fabrics - but still undecided about the best colour... eep!
Chinese Trippin
Another trip up to handmade clothing mecca Shenzhen on the weekend with a friend. It was soooo exhausting! It is honestly one of the most full on things you can do (it was my friends first trip up there and she was visibly wilting after a few hours). Spent a while with our tailor getting a few things made including a camel blazer, and two pairs of high waisted shorts (lace and sequins) and a few other things. The fabrics they have there are so amazing, I could wander the fabric market for hours. Everything will be delivered in a week and I'm soo excited!
Black Tie Dress Progress
Here's the fabric I chose to make the Black Tie dress I am wearing to a friends wedding in a month. Went with a slightly warmer palette than the one in the pic I blogged about here. Also, a lovely reader of mine Hannah emailed me with an idea for the back of the dress which I loved. Getting down to it this weekend.
