Another fucking brilliant DIY from Ivania Love Aesthetics, these cut off boots are perfect. I blogged about doing the same thing a while ago here, and the small details that Ivania has added such as the copper wire really complete the look. I'm in love! Hope you're all planning on making your own.

DIY Glitter Boots
Do you remember me posting a while ago about about the DIY potential of the Giuseppe Zanotti glitter boots? Well, the lovely bloggette of Hoard of Trends has made her own version and they are fantastic! Cheap boots + glitter + glue = amazingness! Why not make a pair yourself?
DIY Feather Lined Boots
As you may know, I can't go past a pair of shearling lined boots, particularly when they are DIYed. But stumbled upon this image and feel in love with the feather lined boots. so effing cool! Buy some feather trim like this, and either tie it around your ankles underneath your boots with the feathers pointing up, or glue it to the inside of your boots.
I get the feeling that the master DIYers out there who rarely get a mention are the stylists who put together amazing shoots like the one above, and are able to turn a simple outfit into something amazing.

DIY Shearling Boots
Doing a whip around the blogs this morning stumbled on sooo many good diys! You can't understand how happy that makes me. One particular favourite I found were these amazinggg DIY shearling boots from My Vintage Secret, simply measure up and add some shearling fabric to your flat boots. So easy. This one deserves an award.
DIY Giuseppe Zanotti Glitter Boots
Buy yourself a pair of thrifted boots and some craft glue (make sure that it is the type that dries clear) and a wholllle lot of glitter (my addiction to all things gold will mean that I'll be buying gold glitter). Wearing plastic gloves, cover the leather of the shoes in a thick layer of glue and then sprinkle liberally with glitter. You want a thick layer of glitter with no leather showing through. Leave to dry.

DIY Alexa Pearl Boots
Pretty dress (although Alexa manages to look more hungry every week no?) and I see a DIY in the shoes she's wearing.
Old boots + silver spraypaint + strings of fake pearls + hot glue = Alexa's shoes!

DIY - Buckle Boots
Fashion Clique has put their finger on it with the buckle boots post on their blog. If you're a a bit skint (like me - summer holidays are definitely taking it out of me) use a pair of ankle boots you already have, grab a few matching belts from a thrift store - I usually hone in on the box of assorted belts for less than a quid each - and wrap them around. I have done mine using 5 belts that I have shortened to create almost like small collars that fit snugly around the boots without the need for too much wrapping. done!

DIY - Ellery Thigh High Feathery Boots
Add a nice chain of ostrich feather down the backs of your suede thigh high boots for a gorgeous detail. If you take it on with pins or some light stitches along the back seam of the boot you will then be able to remove it when you are done with that look (I am thinking one night of fun would be enough for me).

DIY - Ellery Shoe Glittter
A very very simple DIY inspired by the new season Ellery Lookbook - wack a bit of sparkle on the front of a pair of boots and away you go! I was thinking of doing it on a black patent pair of boots I own and rarely wear, using some acrylic glue mixed with course/matte glitter so that when I am over that look I can peel it off! The key to getting this look right (other than buying the real thing, duh) is to build up the glue so its quite chunky on the front of the shoe, and if doing both shoes, making sure they don't look to symetrical.

DIY - Open Toe Boots
Haven't totally signed on to open toed boots quite yet - always been slightly confused as to when to wear them - boots to me mean its cold. Anyway, love this DIY - chopping the front out of a pair of boots to create the peep toe. Definitely style on a budget. Why not when they'll probably go out of fashion soon anyway (v. sorry to all those open toe boot lovers out there!)

DIY - Cut off spring boots
Have been looking for lovely spring boots, but am having real trouble finding ones that are the right height, have the right heel etc etc. In a dream world I would have a pair of the Isabel Marant boots that Kate Bosworth never takes off (seen here). Buttt unfortunately thats not going to happen any time soon, so I was very interested to see these cut off boots on Wide Awake Thoughts, not sure if she has done them herself or they came like this. Definitely possible to cut off a pair of boots to create the perfect spring boot. Going to have to get thrifting...
I would probably cut them a bit shorter if I was going to do my own - perhaps right on or below the ankle. And I would do a very slight V at the front and back of the top of the boot - so that they look a bit western and like the ones here. It may then be smart to glue the edges lightly and if you like, apply some textile paint (or acrylic) over the edges in a colour matching the leather if you want a more polished look.

Thigh High Boots
The weather has been rubbish in London - its practically feels like winter again! Is perfect weather for thigh high boots, and am happy to say that have finally located a lovely pair of streamlined ones like the Brian Atwoods. Glad that all my hard work searching has paid off. Have now won the boots on ebay, after some heavy heart beating and counting down the minutes!!! Can just see them with my red cape, or worn like the below pic (although I will probably have about 4 inches less of leg poking out the top...).

Zara over the knee boots
Even though it is getting into Spring, it hasn't really started to feel like it yet. I guess that's the reason I have been obsessing over last seasons Zara over the knee/thigh high boots. A bit late of me I know. I've been scouring the internet like a mad woman trying to find some to buy. Gorgeous suede leather and very tight fitting with a low stilleto heel, very delicate looking.
Not loving the super high platform ones that are around - like the topshop ones - think they are a bit serious and not for everyday wear. Also not a fan of ones that aren't really well fitted around the thigh, a bit pretty woman for me. If I can find the Zara ones I am sure I will wear them - even in summer (a depressing thought!) Natalie from Canned Fashion wears them perfectly.
